Hi guys,
I have free accommodation in Saitama.
So I was wondering what the minimum cost of surviving in Japan would be, per month?
btw assuming I don't drink alcohol and be careful when spending for entertainment, I want to stay there as long as possible.
Thanks

You can survive on 20,000 yen per month if you buy only inexpensive food (vegetables, seafood) and lead a very austere lifestyle, otherwise, without traveling around much and utilities being paid by others.

If you would actually like to enjoy your stay, going to bars locally, eating out cheaply sometimes etc. then you are looking at a minimum of 40,000 a month. If you want to go out in central Tokyo then costs start to skyrocket- the sky is the limit.
