I am interested in traveling to Osaka but I have dietary restrictions to dairy products and spicy food, does Osaka offer western food that would enable me to stay nurished during my 2 month stay?

In luck, if you're not a vegetarian

The Japanese people I knew in Osaka-fu were really weak with spicy food, so they likely don't use a lot of spice either. Now, if you're a vegetarian that doesn't eat fish, you're going to find it hard to fill your stomach lest you like eating French bread every day.

As far as you eat traditional Japanese food, there's no spicy food or dairy products. Avoid Thai, Korean or Indian food (they are popular) if you cannot eat something spicy. If you choose western food, ask and make sure they don't use any milk/butter/cheese. Personally I think there're more possibility to get dairy product in western food than Japanese food.

Yea, dairy and spicy are imports to Japanese cuisine. I agree that you are safer sticking to traditional Japanese food over western food to avoid those things.
