hello, i will be with my family in tokyo for 4 days next july, we would like to visit the takayama inari shrine in shiraki village, aomori. i wonder if it can be done as a one day trip though, and if so, how to get there after reaching hachinohe? thank you! viviana

After reaching Hachinohe, take a limited express train to Hirosaki (100 minutes), then the JR Gono Line to Goshogawara (45 minutes) and then a Konan Bus to the shrine (60 minutes, 8 buses per day). Depending on the time of the day, transfer to a "Resort Shirakami" rapid train at Aomori rather than transfering at Hirosaki. Train timetables: http://www.jorudan.co.jp/english/norikae/The bus timetable: http://konanbus.com/rosenbus/_gosyogawara/No2/122.gifIf you want to do it in a day trip, I recommend to fly to Aomori and then rent a car from there. By train and bus, it seems close to impossible due to infrequent services in the Tsugaru countryside.
