Hi!

Is there any possible way to get from Tokyo to Niigata (city) for less then 10000 Yen (one-way) for the Max Toki Shinkansen but faster than almost 10 deadly hours by regular JR trains?

The highway bus between Ikebukuro Station and Niigata Station will fit the bill. It takes 5 hours 20 minutes and costs 5,250 yen.

新潟駅前 = Niigata Station
池袋駅東口 = Ikebukuro Station east exit
