Okinawa? 2008/3/27 00:12
Hi there,

I am currently planning a holiday to Japan, though I'm not sure when I will be going. I will likely do a one week type tour (probably Kyoto to Tokyo through Hakone) followed by a few extra days in Tokyo to do my own thing. I plan to see a lot of stuff and buy goodies so I realise this is not an inexpensive endeavour.

What I would like to know is how costly a couple of days in Okinawa would be at the end of my trip? Is it difficult/expensive to get there from Tokyo? Would it make more sense to go there first (from Canada?) Are gaijin-friendly accomodations fairly priced and reasonably available? Do you know of any overnight tours out of Tokyo to Okinawa that include accomodation and flight? I have never been to the ocean before and I understand that Okinawa has lovely beaches and a number of fish types to look at!

I hope that's enough info. Please and thank yous,
-Meghan

Depending on the airline you fly over on, airfares to Okinawa (one-way) are around 13,000 yen ( http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e2364.html )
