Model Trains Shops in Ueno 2008/3/29 19:21
I'm leaving for Tokyo on Wednesday before heading to Miyazaki. While in Tokyo, I'll be staying in Ueno. (Was hoping to catch the sakura this year, but that's not going to happen)

Anycase, I'm looking for a model train shop. (not a toy store. Hobby shops are ok, but model train stores also carry videos, and other railroad merchandise like shirts, mugs, and books as well) Does anyone know of any stores around Uen?.

Just one stop over on the JR line is Akihabara, where there are tons of model shops, some dealing specifically with model railroads.

One store I go to in Akihabara is right next to Suehirochō Station (two stops from Ueno on the Ginza Subway Line) is the TamTam hobby shop. While not specifically just railroads, a lot of it is railroad related.
Take exit Number 4, look for a sign TamTam, take the elevator up to the store.

The JRE forum (membership required) has a whole list of shops with maps.
