Kappabashi street 2008/4/1 07:27
I am travelling to Tokyo next week, I am only in Tokyo for 2 days on a stop over to Korea and I am staying in The Shinjuku new city hotel. I am a chef and want to get some damascus steel chef knives. I found Kappabashi street on this web site which has a lot of knife and kitchen shops. Can someone please give me directions on how to get to Kappabashi street from shinjuku station also is it worth going to Kappabashi street? are there some good chef knive shops there? if not where is a good chef's knife shop in Tokyo? Thanks

From JR Shinjuku station go by JR Yamanote line to Ueno, change to Ginza line subway ( next station Inaricho ) and one more is Tawaramachi, Here you find the kappabashi. Combine it with a visit to Asakusa temple area what is one subwaystation further.
