professional training college 2008/4/7 18:23
I'm going to graduate from high school and I'm looking for higher education in Japan in the field of cooking/baking. Can anyone help me about which professional training college or which university in Japan offer culinary courses as higher education?

Thank you

This is what you first need to do. Study Japanese wherever you are right now or study Japanese in a languageschool in Japan. They can help you to pass the Japanese profiency test which you need if you want to study in Japan. I believe most schools require level one which means you should be very fluent in written and spoken Japanese. I do know that some schools (especially vocational schools) are satisfied with level 2. Don't worry about an entrance exam because I think vocational schools (cooking/baking schools) only require the profiency test and of course fee.

So step one is a language school, then you can apply for a course and you could even graduate here and get a working visa to work in your field in Japan. It's not true that you can't work here without a BA or whatever. This is exactly how I did so I know what i'm talking about.

so it's expensive and difficult but just give it a try.

hope this answers your question
