Gifts for clients in Japan

I have been working with very good clients in Japan for the past nine years. I visit them at least once a year and always bring a gift, usually chocolate or premium spirits. On this next visit, they have invited me to Kyoto for three days. There will be an obvious amount of expense and time shared with me and I would like to bring a gift to show my sincere appreciation. I will be traveling around the world, so I need to either ship it ahead of time or bring something in my suitcase. Would an item from Tiffany's (pen, card holder) be too impersonal and not impressive enough for their kindness? Thank you

Not personal? How about engraving their names on the items. Just a thought.
