hi, anyone know if there's any private onsen (for my mum & i only)? we're going to tokyo and thinking of trying but my mum's quite shy to visit the public one.

There are not many onsen in Tokyo. The few that exists don't seem to have private baths.
But in nearby hot spring resorts such as Hakone you have dozens of options for private bathing. It is called "kashikiri" (private) or "kazukoburo" (family bath) and offered by many ryokan and a few public bath houses in hot spring resorts.
