Anime Convention in Tokyo 2008/4/30 18:18
Will there be any upcoming anime/manga conventions in Tokyo? I need to go for fieldwork. If not, any other suggestions? Like a museum. I don't want to go to Ghibli or Akihabara (unless there's an exhibit there). I need to look at general anime/manga and the fans.

Anime events in Japan are so subdivided into dojinshi markets, seiyu
etalks, concerts, staff discussion, cosplay etc. There's no equivalent
of American style "anime conventions".

Major upcoming events:
5/3 Dream Party http://www.dreamparty.jp/ (adult game oriented)
5/3-4 Super Comic City http://www.akaboo.jp/comiccity/
5/4 Akiba Otaku Matsuri http://www.kyoshin.net/event/
6/28 Rondo Robe 2008 http://www.geneon-ent.co.jp/rondorobe/rr2008/ (reserved ticket required)
8/15-17 Comic Market http://www.comiket.co.jp/
8/16-17 TBS Anime Festa http://www.tbs.co.jp/anime/festa/ (reserved ticket required)

for all the links.
unfortunately the march even is a little inconvenient since it's already May...

Also, class ends in July so I would need conventions/gatherings before that. I'm thinking about otaku matsuri. Thanks!
