Hello,

I will be in Kyoto on the day of the Aoi Matsuri Festival. Does anybody know at what time it starts and if I need tickets?

The parade of the festival will start at 10:30 am from Kyoto Gosho.

You don't need to buy tickets unless you want to see the parade at the seating areas at Kyoto Gyoen and Shimogamo Shrine.
