I want to be a music producer and I wanted to know what colleges are good for music majors. I am not looking for a plainly music institute or college but one that offers music courses as well as academic courses like USC and UCLA.

Search the web. Most schools have a homepage with all their information. If you can't make out the Japanese, then maybe that school isn't for you, and keep looking
Hope things work out.

Tokyo University of the Arts ("Tokyo Geijutsu Daigaku" in Japanese) is the best among former national university which has been producing many of world-wide contest winners. May be next will be Toho-gakuen University (I couldn't find any english web site) which produced world famous conductor Mr. Seiji Ogawa. (private school) If you are interested in, please check their website. http://www.geidai.ac.jp/english/index.htmlhttp://www.tohomusic.ac.jp/index.html
