How do I get to Okinawa from Asakusa?

Hi!
Me and my friends are staying at the Oak Hotel Asakusa in June and we REALLY want to go to Okinawa to look at the beautiful island.
Whats the best way to go about getting there for the day?
Or can you reccomend some beaches a little nearer?
I heard it rans a lot in June also, is that so?

Okinawa is several thousand kilometres from Tokyo and you have to fly there, it's not a daytrip.
