Tokyo train pass 2008/5/18 10:33
Where exactly at Narita Airport do I buy the "Tokyo Metro Open Ticket" - 2-day: 980 Yen?
Is that the best deal for a couple of days in Tokyo, going from one Tower Records to another?

The places where it is sold are mentioned here:

Because this pass restricts you to Tokyo Metro subway lines (9 out of 13 subway lines in Tokyo, excluding other urban trains such as the Yamanote Line), this pass is not often the most convenient solution. It also depends on where your hotel is located.

You might also want to consider the NEX & Suica package by JR:

train pass again 2008/5/18 12:00
Uji, many thanks! I stay at Ueno so I get the Keisei train to and from NRT - no problem... the 2 day pass seems good to me.
Cheers, J.

subway and JR 2008/5/18 12:43
Hmm, going between Tower Records makes me think you'll be wanting to use the Yamanote Line, e.g. between Shibuya and Shinjuku, which both have Tower Records.

I suppose if the new Fukutoshin subway line is open by the time you arrive you could use that, but the Shinjuku Tower Records is right outside the JR station south entrance and I'm guessing the subway will be quite a walk.

For most people the subway pass doesn't pay for itself- bear in mind that most trips in central Tokyo will only cost 160- 190 yen.
