Hakone to Kanazawa using JR Pass?

Hello, What's the best way to get from Hakone to Kanazawa using the JR pass? I understand that the whole trip can not be done with just the JR pass, but what is the most efficient way? I tried using http://www.hyperdia.com/ but i couldn't figure out the correct starting point (hakoneyumoto?) and which of those routes was primarly JR. Thanks!

Catch the Tokaido Shinkansen from Odawara, Atami or Mishima Station and take it to Maibara. There, transfer to a limited express for Kanazawa. The Japan Rail Pass covers the route above, but it does not cover transportation between Hakone and the nearby shinkansen stations.
