By local trains it takes about 4.5 hours, costs 4460 yen and typically requires transfers two or three transfers along the way, usually at least in Shimonoseki and Kokura.
You could also take a local train to Hiroshima (50 minutes, 740 yen) and then take a highway bus to Fukuoka (4 hours, 4000 yen).
Buses and trains will terminate at Fukuoka's Hakata Station, from where Fukuoka Airport can be reached in a 5 minute subway ride.
