I can't say for sure about this particular movie, but Japanese movies are not usually subtitled into English at the theaters. It just isn't practical or useful. I don't think that the Japanese in any movie at the theater is subtitled (a fact which made the movie Kill Bill a little confusing to me). If you want to see it with subtitles you'll probably have to wait for the dvd. However, I think the plot of this movie isn't so deep that you'd have trouble following it if you saw it in Japanese.

My local walmart carries the us release of this film, I guess you could have some family member buy it for you here then mail it to Japan.
