I've been to Japan many times in the past, but always through a third party. This time I'm going for a short period of time, on my own accord, and am unsure If I need to do anything for my visa.
Seeing I'm going for less than a month, do I have to file any type of paperwork? Or can I just head to the airport?

It depends on what your country of citizenship is.
If I recall from your previous posts, you are from the US, correct? In that case you don't need to do anything special. Just head to the airport.
