travel date golden week

What date would be the heaviest travel to Japan from usa for golden week or during the end of golden week.Assuming many Japanese would be going or returning to Japan during this period.

Golden Week was the begining of last month. (May) So unless you're planning a trip for next year, don't worry about it.

Just as you guessed it the heaviest travel days around Golden Week are the first and last few days of the vacation period. And as daz88 pointed out, Golden Week has just ended this year.

It looks like it will peak on May 2nd with people leaving Japan and May 6th with people returning to Japan. You only need to be concerned if you will be traveling with the flow of traffic (entering Japan on May 6th or leaving Japan on May 2nd) otherwise it will just be like any other day for travel.

April 29th - May 5th is golden week. I actually came to japan, left canada on the 29th arrived on the 30th. It actually wasn`t to bad, i first landed in narita then took domestic to fukuoka. Really.. i didn`t find it all to busy.
