Respect for the Aged 2008/7/8 18:09
Hi, just want to know if the Respect for the Aged is a governement gazetted holiday where everyone gets the day off or just a day of observance like Mother's or Father's Day.

Thanks,
LK

LK,

Yes, it's a national holiday.

I don't mean to be picky, but Mother's or Father's Days are always "days off" since they are always on a Sunday. Days like Tanabata or Hinamatsuri aren't holidays.

Thanks both! Got to re-adjust itinerary as I was also told there's a lot of domestic travel when its a long weekend.

Cheers,
