How much can I bring home to America 2008/9/6 05:10
I can't seem to find anywhere that tells me how much I am allowed to bring home from Japan to America. Also are there certain things I can't take home with me? Anything info will help.

You can take back a boat with you if you wanted to. Assuming you fill out the appropriate paperwork and pay taxes on it.

US nationals traveling abroad are allotted duty free up to $800 US when returning:

You can certainly bring more then that as long as you declare them to US Customs on your return. Pretty much its unlimited as long as you make the proper declarations.

Prohibited items are listed on the CBP website as well.

Generally speaking, any meat products, weapons, and or drugs are prohibited. The obvious stuff.
