Help with directions to store in Kyoto

Hi! I'm going to be going to kyoto in a week for 5 days as part of a Kyoto - Osaka - Tokyo Honeymoon! and I wanted to know if someone can help me understand these directions a bit better...

If you navigate the map to reposition the green arrow to the left of your computer screen (and maybe zoom out a little, depending on your screen size/settings), you will eventually see Kitaoji subway station on the right. You can then print out the map and take it with you. Kitaoji station is towards the northern end of the subway line that runs north/south from Kyoto station
