I am trying to find info on how much and details on how much it would cost to take the Hikari Shinkansen to Kyoto and back from Tokyo.I am in Tokyo for a week and I want to spend a day in Kyoto

a return ticket (Unreserved Seat) from Tokyo-Kyoto is 25420 yen, a 7 day JR Pass is 28300 yen, so it might be worth getting a JR Pass and also use it to get around Tokyo.
