Where to purchase the rail Pass?

You state: ''The Japan Rail Pass has to be purchased outside of Japan.'' Outside of Japan means evrywhere in the world. Travel Agency abroad, Embassy, Consulate? Where? In which country it is available?

Yes, the rail pass must be purchased outside of Japan from authorized travel agencies around the world. It cannot be bought anywhere inside Japan, i.e. it must be purchased BEFORE you enter Japan. Here is the official page which also lists where they are sold: http://www.japanrailpass.net/
