watashi wa ai shimasu? 2008/10/9 04:03
My American friends say "watashi wa ai shimasu". I have heard that this is not a grammatically correct way to say "I love you"

Hoshiko,

You're right, it's not grammatical and doesn't make a lot of sense.

If you want to know how to say it properly, you could have checked through the archives, as this question crops up with incredible frequency...

Thanks, it didn't make much sense to me either! I had never heard "watashi wa ai shimasu" used before as a way to say "I love you"(until I heard my friend say it)
