The Nex ticket in the Suica and Nex package is for use from Narita to Tokyo, not the return trip. For getting from Narita to Ikebukuro and then around the Tokyo area though it is a great bargain.

Suica vs Passnet 2008/10/14 17:26
Is it correct that the Suica card covers JR lines in addition to the network (rail and subway) covered by Passnet?
And since Suica is refundable, it is more advantageous than Passnet, isn't it?

nikki,

I believe that "Passnet" SF Metro Card is no longer sold and no longer usable at automated gate - if you have an old one, you can take it to metro station ticket counter to either (1) get the remaining value refunded in cash, or (2) buy a PASMO (a similar reloadable card like SUICA) and transfer the remaining Passnet value into your new PASMO.
