Hi, I'm a female traveller going to travel on my own.I really love to stay one night at Shirakawago, but it seems a bit rural area, is it safe enough if I arrive there at dinner time and looking for one accommodation? Anyone know any good place there to stay that i can book online or phone number?

Safety should be no issue. But showing up at a minshuku without advance notice can be problematic, because meals are included with the stay, which need to be prepared in advance. If you show up on the day itself without reservations, they might not be able to accommodate you because they could not make the preparations of the meal. Advance reservations are highly recommended.
