Storing luggage during short stops

Some of the recommended itineraries here call for leaving a city (such as Osaka), spending the afternoon in Hiroshima, and then going on to Miyajima for the night. What are you supposed to do with your luggage while you are spending the afternoon in Hiroshima?

Leave it in a locker in a railways station. All major stations--and some small ones too--have lockers.
An other way is to first go to the hotel you will use in the evening. They will keep your suitcases behind the desk until checking time. try to travel with suitcases 26" high max.
