I wish to travel via JR train from Sapporo to Gala Yuzawa resort. Then from Gala Yuzawa back to Ueno station. I keyed in Gala Yuzawa as a station in hyperdia but not such destination. What station name should I key in instead. Thank you.

Hyperdia is horrible when it comes to station recognition. For example, station names consisting of two separate parts must not be separated by space characters.
You have to enter "Galayuzawa".

The reason you can't find any info on Hyperdia, is because the Shinkansen to Gala Yuzawa won't run until Gala Yuzawa resort opens. (when there is snow)

Oh, and if you put in Echigo Yuzawa, you will get a route, and a price.
Echigo Yuzawa is about 3 minutes before Gala Yuzawa.
