potential band members in Kansai?

I recently moved to Kyoto and just started to learn Japanese. I was an occasional jazz singer back at home, and would like to connect with people here to play together, do some kind of project. I could go to some musician hangouts and try to connect with people there, but it would be difficult b/c of my lack of Japanese. So, any ideas?

People in Japan tend to find band members through musical instrument shop bulletin boards or rental studio bulletin boards. But I don't think you need much language ability to do music. Plus, jazz musicians tend to speak some English.
