want to visit from tokio via morioka the city kakunodate.
Is it interesting to stay in Morioka or can you advice me to stay in Kakunodate? How long in Kakunodate? From there we want to go south to Matsushima bay, Nikko, Tokyo, Okayame, Takamatsu, kochi, Uwajima, Uchiko, matsuyama, Oita, beppu, Miyazaki, Kumamoto, Shimabara, Yanagawa, Saga, Nagasaki, Fukuoka. We want to do the voyage in 23 days (21 JR pass). What time of the year should be best? All information is welcome. Thanks.

Morioka is not Japan's most interesting city, but it does have a few attractions, especially food related (different types of noodle dishes).

Kamakura is explained here:

One day is enough for Kakunodate.

The cherry blossom season is both, one of the nicest and the most crowded time to visit Kakunodate. It coincides with the Golden Week. I find May, just after the end of Golden Week, one of the most pleasant seasons to travel central and southern Japan. October is very nice, too.
