Kyoto questions

Kiyomizudera, Sanjusangendo and Fushimi Inari Shrine are close to each other.
I noticed this post in another thread:[Konnichiwa Uji:]
I have a few other questions:
1. from Osaka, would it be Osaka to Kyoto then JR Nara line to Inari then Keihan from Fushimi Inari to Shichijo? We will have a JR Pass and a Surutto pre paid card, but need to stay in Osaka for family reasons
2. would it be feasable to add in Kawai Kanjiro as well in a day (we have been to Kiyomizudera and Kawai Kanjiro before, but wish to share them with our traveling companion this time)
3.Is it worth walking from Sanjusangendo onwards, or do we bus it to Kawai Kanjiro.
4.If we decided to do something completely different, like Fushimi Inari to Keihan Marutamachi, can we enter the Heian Shrine precinct from Marutamachi-dori, or do we need to walk right around to the main entrance?

Definitely. Kawai Kanjiro is on the way from Sanjusangendo to Kiyomizu.

Walk, its only about 500 m between the two, and then 1km to Kiyomizudera.

You need to enter the shrine grounds from the main entrance. The other 3 sides are surrounded by a walled off garden.

Thanks a heap..we only briefly went to the main entrance and courtyard very late in the afternoon last time...didn't notice the walls!!!!!
