Yuzawa snow and onsen trip

I planned to have a day trip to Yuzawa at 2 Jan. I would like to try the onsen and play in snow, how much i need to pay(cheapest way) for the ticket(i owned a JR pass)? Do I need to pay for the 0.5 day entrance fee before I can enjoy the onsen? Thanks a lot for your time.

It's free with the JR Pass. Do I need to pay for the 0.5 day entrance fee before I can enjoy the onsen?Which onsen do you mean? The sake bath in the sake museum located at the station? In that case you will need to purchase and entrance ticket. There are many other onsen around Yuzawa.
