Can someone give me some advice please.
I have planned my rail travel for 2 weeks in january using hyperdia. I am using a rail pass and plan to reserve all the tickets for myself and the family some time early in my stay as I did last time I visited. Can I pre book the trains that dont have a reservation number such as local trains, so that I dont have to do that on the day. Some of the smaller places have pretty infrequent service so I can be quite sure which train I will need to take to make my connections with those trains that I require reserved seating.

It is not possible to make seat reservations for local trains (except for a very small number of exceptions).
