The cost for a bus trip between Tokyo and Kyoto varies widely depending on company and bus type. The one way fee can be under 5000 yen for discount buses to over 9000 yen for premium buses.

waht are the places of interest in kyoto & osaka?

On this website there is a cherry blossom table that will tell you when the trees bloom and you can see when the season is this year. Just a thought that I had since you said April or May... Have a good trip!

Can try http://www.123bus.net

I've travelled with them twice, and the buses are pretty clean and prices are reasonable.

Tokyo to Kyoto (click the Tokyo to Osaka option) is 4100yen to 9000yen depending on the bus type and the day of travel.

Osaka 2009/1/15 17:21
Osaka is not given the importance it deserve. There are so many areas with historical buildings, others with great parks, other with mountain waterfalls, still others with giant imperial tombs..How many tourists, for example, know about a 2nd castle in the Osaka area?
