stuck in the middle of my itinerary

This is the first time I have planned out a trip, and my very first time to travel anywhere on my own. But anyways, I am planning on traveling to Japan for 15-16 days/nights. Still not sure yet, I'm still planning it out. But I will start off my journey in Tokyo.
Day 6 to 8: Leave Tokyo and visit Takayama/Shirakawa-go
Day 8: In the morning leave my current place and head to either Kyoto or Horoshima/Miyajima. This is where I get stuck as far as planning my itinerary goes.
Should I head to Hiroshima/Miyajima after I visit Takayama/Shirakawa or just head to Kyoto then Hiroshima/Miyajima before going back to Tokyo.

I recommend the following sequence:
Tokyo - (train via Nagoya) - Takayama - (bus) - Shirakawago - (bus) - Kanazawa - (train) - Kyoto - (train) - Hiroshima - (train) - Tokyo
Or the other way around.
