Yukatas in early April? 2009/1/24 23:35
Hi!
I know that yukatas are mainly sold in summer, but because my Japan trip will be in April I'm wanting to know if I have any chance to buy one during my travel?

Yukata are sold around the year. "Real" ones you can get at department stores. And most souvenir shops (including those at the international airports) sell the cheaper ones targeted at foreign tourists.

Uniclo at Narita Airport Terminal 1 also sells quite nice yukata.

You might see yukatas in April, but it could be a bit early. Other than Uniqlo the "kimono" that I've seen for sale at the airport souvenir shops tend not to be anything like real yukatas- more like silky bathrobes.
