planning to go oriase gorge spring

Is late April a good time to visit Oriase gorge? I understand that the place is beautiful during the autumn foliage.

I imagine it is not unpleasant even during winter when the vegetation is barren, however, in my opinion, I think Oirase is better visited during the time when the trees have leaves. As a rule of thumb, trees start to get their new leaves around the cherry blossom season, which takes place in late April to early May on the given altitude in northern Tohoku. So, late April could be just a little bit too early for Oirase with leaves.

That really helps, now i will plan my trip elsewhere. I am planning 2 night's stay in Nikko, think it will be enough to cover Kirifuri highlands, Nisha-ichiji and Kegon fall area?
