I am going to have dinner with my husband's Japanese client. I have dine with him several times before. This time, he said he will bring his wife along because he wants to introduce his wife to us. I've heard that when a Japanese introduce you his wife, it means that he regards you as a friend. So, I am wondering, do i need to prepare a gift for his wife? And if so, what kind of gift should i prepare?

Are you in Japan? If not, a small gift related to your hometown or region would be nice. Nothing too expensive though as they may feel obligated.

You are not expected to act like a Japanese person. So act the way you would back home. It'll be a chance for his wife to learn foreign customs.
