Exchange UK Sterling - best rates?

Hi There.

Travelling to Japan for one month in July.

I am starting to look into exchange rates in the UK and the best I can get here is ��1 = Y131 .. which isnt fantastic!

Do you think it is better to exchange money in the UK before I go or will I get a better rate in Japan using Sterling travellers cheques ?

If I go with the rates here we are going to have a very expensive holiday !!

I use a hole in the wall (7 eleven) best place in Japan. You get the up to the minute official rate and I only get charged �1.50 per transaction.

That should be 1.50 UK Pound
