Hototogisu story 2009/3/12 10:37
How can I translate following Japanese to English?

Nakanunara koroshiteshimae Hototogisu by Nobunaga

Nakanunara nakasetemiyou Hototogisu by Hideyoshi

Nakanunara nakumade matou Hototogisu by Ieyasu

When you tell the story about this expression, how do you introduce the story to foreign visitor?

misstoko,

I guess all you can do is tell the whole story pretty much as it is, as three different reactions to a, let's say, "a canary that simply would not sing" (though it's a bird that is supposed to sing),; one reaction speaks of rash decisions, the next of wisdom, and the last of patience. Each of the reactions reflected their different personalities, which showed later in their position of power as well.
