I did not plan on using a transformer in Japan. Could it be harmful to my camera or camera battery if I don't use one?

My camcorder (purchased in the USA) works perfectly fine in Japan. Most electronic devices from the US can work generally fine in Japan.

I was aware there is generally no problem for things such as flat irons, but I wanted to check for sure before bringing my new baby to Japan!
