Tsukiji Fish Market hours in Early May 2009/4/20 10:02
I am traveling to Tokyo in early May and I am interested in seeing the fish market. I went to the market's website to look at the calendar, but it is only written in Japanese. Given the holidays in early May I would be grateful for a translation of the fish market's calendar for May 3 to May 8. Thanks in advance!

Which day safer? 2009/4/20 14:13
Dear Uji,
Based on the info on this website:

http://www.tsukiji-market.or.jp/etc/calendar/2009.html

4th May is open but it is marked "臨時開市日" will it have the fish auction like normal days?

Given a choice, is it safer to go on 2nd May or 4th May?
I plan to have the sushi breakfast at the nearby Sushi Dai too.

Thank you for your advice.

I assume so.

Being Golden Week, some restaurants might have irregular opening schedules. If you are worried, I recommend to confirm with the restaurant.
