Kansai ThruPass duration 2009/4/20 17:39
This is probably a silly question, but I'm a little unclear about how long the 2-day Kansai-thru-pass is valid for.

Is it two consecutive days (say the 8th and 9th) or can it be used over 48 hours (eg. evening of the 8th, the 9th and morning of 10th)? Any clarification would be great.

Typically speaking passes are valid per calendar day.

So if you started using a pass at 11:40pm, it essentially becomes invalid at 12:00am (but usually if you are on a train at that time, it becomes invalid after you get off).

As for the Kansai Thru pass, they are valid for any 2 non consecutive days minus the Zenkoku three day version.

However the same principle applies, the pass is valid until the end of the calendar day, not based on 24 hour clock.
