Usage of onsen facility 2009/4/21 03:50
Hi,

I will be staying for 2 nights in Hakodate.
I manage to find a very good hotel at a very cheap price in Hakodate-shi. But a normal hotel doesn't have onsen facility. Based on my understanding, onsen is usually available in ryokan. And to stay in ryokan, it will cost three times expensive than the hotel.

Is there any onsen that we can enjoy if we are not the guest of those ryokan?? If yes, how much would it cost per person for usage of onsen?

Thanks in advance.

Most onsen resorts come with one or several public baths. Additionally, many ryokan in onsen resorts open their baths to non-staying guests during daytime.

Hakodate's Yunokawa Onsen has many such ryokan, which typically charge 500-1000 yen per person and visit.

There are also several public baths which cost 390 yen per person and visit.

All of Yunokawa's baths open to "daytime visitors" are listed on the following Japanese web page:
