I have a 4:00PM flight from Narita and am planning on spending the prior evening in Hakone. I guess for International departures, we need to be there by 2:00. Will it be safe if I leave Odawarra by 9:00AM or should I plan on spending last evening in Tokyo?

It's under two hours from Odawara to either Tokyo or Shinagawa Station and on to the Narita Express.....you should have plenty of time. Check hyperdia.com for train times.
