Japan Rail Pass - Hokkaido 2009/4/24 11:20
Hi,
My husband & I r planning to travel to Hokkaido next year Feb'2010 for 14 Days.
As this will be a budget trip, we r considering to buy the 14 days Japan Rail Pass.
Our plan is to fly in to Tokyo (reach Tokyo 7am) & catch the 10am train from Tokyo - Hakodate (reach around 5.30pm)
Before we finalised our trip, we would like to find out for the 14 days JR Pass, is there any restriction on the transportation within Hokkaido? Meaning, can we use our JR Pass on the Limited Train or Bues within Hokkaido?

Our itineary is as follows:

Tokyo - Hakodate (stay 3 nites)
Hokdate - Sapporo (6 nites)
Sapporo - Niseko (1 nite)
Sapporo - Lake Toya (1 nite)
Sapporo - Abashiri (1 nite)
Sapporo - Tokyo - (1 nite)

On our last day, we will depart from Sapporo back to Tokyo and stay 1 nite at Tokyo before departing back to our home country.

Hello,
The JAPAM RAIL PASS is very economical one for non-Japanese people.
You can use it for Shinkansen (except Nozomi-type), JR Limited Express, Express, Local train and JR bus. Almost all trains, you can ride.
