I've heard and seen pictures of how beautiful it is to view cherry blossoms but I haven't seen any comments about the aroma. Just wondering if the blossoms themselves have any pleasant smell, thanks.

Orange blossoms have a heavenly fragrance but not cherry blossoms. Cherry blossoms don't even produce cherries.

Only a few spieces give scent. (Ooshima-zakura is one of them.) It is leaves that gives a subtle, nice scent. You can smell it when you're walking under cherry trees after the blossoms are gone, and you can smell it from their autumn leaves as well. :)
