sports on the tele at izakayas?

Continuing my series of questions on drinking in Japan, I was wondering if izakayas are like North American pubs, in that there will be televisions with the sumo coverage being broadcast for their customers viewing pleasure. Thanks ahead for any input.

Some of the smaller izakaya type bars have tv showing baseball or sumo but the larger ones typically do not. The only tv in these larger izakaya are used for karaoke in separate rooms. But there are a LOT of Irish pubs here showing current games, usually soccer.

Go to one that has a favorite baseball team playing. We found a place in Osaka that had a big party during their games. We were treated great and they gave us some free food and drinks. Everyone was very nice there.
